During the past couple of years, Jim and I have been focused on learning about how to create federated support networks and how to move into the support space. There have been exciting and sustainable achievements in this area. We have learned alot with and from these support economy pioneers. In addition to this work, we have seen that the support economy (TSE) framework helps to explain so many new developments in economy and society. In this blog, I’ll be sharing our learning, along with thoughts and observations on today’s institutional crisis, the plight of the individual as shock absorber, and the historic opportunties for invention and wealth creation that we face. We look forward to seeing your responses and dialogue. There is also a facility on this site for publishing longer pieces. They have to be submitted for review, then they can be posted.
This site also has a featured space for learning about support economy pioneers. It’s time to pool our observations about enterprises moving into the support space. Some enterprises are taking baby steps (small steps along a profound path), others are making big strides. There’s a lot to be learned in all these experiences. Together we can develop a compelling map of the new support space and how to get there. We can help pioneers discover the learning curve more efficiently, as we consolidate knowledge from a wide range of experiences.

We have ideas for other features on this site that we think will be valuable–and fun. We also look forward to hearing your suggestions.

I assume there may be some kinks in the site as we first get started. Let us know how it is to use the site and what features should be improved for ease of use. I want to thank Arjan Postma and Rob Fransen–my angels of patience– and the other amazing friends at FreedomLab in Amsterdam who built this site as a gift to our growing community.

We look forward to hearing from old friends and making new ones. I hope that together we can make this a place for real learning and sharing.

Please let colleagues know about this new site. One first order of business is to get linked to other relevant sites. Your suggestions and help are critical!

With warmest wishes,

Shoshana

Shoshana and Jim,

All OK with the login. Here is my comment.

I look forward to learning more and offer for your consideration as a topic my latest paper “Achieving Sustainable Development: The Integrative Improvement Institutes Project” which was presented at the Inaugural All China Economics International Conference in Hong Kong on 19 December 2006. A copy is available online at:-
http://topics.developmentgateway.org/businessenvironment/rc/ItemDetail.do?itemId=1091332

The Project seeks through education and training in, and implementation of Integrative Improvement to advance the support economy in a sustainable way.

In brief, Integrative Improvement is an adaptive, science-based, demand-centred, technology-enabled, practical approach to meeting the governance and other challenges we face in our world, our organisations and our economies. It is applicable to individuals and all business, government and civil society organisations and is culturally neutral.
